The Purple Parade

Supporting The Purple Parade for the third consecutive year, Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant once again participated by selling its signature Homemade Fine Bean Curd with Wolfberry. Despite the rain, it was sold to many of the Purple Parade participants. All funds raised were contributed to the Purple Parade beneficiaries. 

Mid-Autumn Festival at TOP of UOB Plaza

7 September 2016

With demonstration from Si Chuan Dou Hua’s master dim sum chef, the women at Bakery Hearts learnt the art of making mooncakes, enabling them to expand their skill sets. 80 beneficiaries from Central Singapore Community Development Council (CSCDC) were also treated to high tea presented by Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant and signature brownies from Bakery Hearts.

Dumpling Festival at Whampoa Community Center

4 June 2016

Held with Whampoa Community Development & Welfare Fund (CDWF) at Whampoa CC this year, Si Chuan Dou Hua celebrated Dumpling Festival with approximately 500 Whampoa residents. Spreading the festive joy, each beneficiary received a bento box as well as four red bean dumplings.

Noodles For Good

8 March 2016

Together with the Central Singapore CDC and Autism Resource Singapore (ARC), Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant launched Noodles for Good, an initiative that provides microbusiness opportunities for special needs individuals and their family member(s) in the form of a mobile noodle kiosk. Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant provides consultancy on kiosk design, recipes, training and supplies raw ingredients at cost on a long term basis.

The first kiosk has been in operations at Pathlight School since 8 March 2016. Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant, Central  Singapore CDC and ARC hope to be able to help at least 50 special needs families through the initiative in the next three years.

Lunar New Year Celebration at TOP of UOB Plaza

Partnering the Central Singapore Community Development Council (CSCDC) once again, 80 underprivileged senior beneficiaries were invited to Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant at TOP of UOB Plaza for an afternoon of feasting and entertainment. Seniors from the Lions Befrienders Senior Activity Centre on Mei Ling Street and NTUC Eldercare SilverACE at Whampoa were treated to a sumptuous five-course feast, and an enjoyable session of Boogie Gold, a dance fitness activity that encourages active aging. Guests each received a goodie bag containing daily essentials and a specially created Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant umbrella.

The restaurant's second year supporting The Purple Parade with its signature Homemade Fine Bean Curd with Wolfberry and Sichuan Dan Dan noodles. Both items were very popular and were sold out within the first two hours. All funds raised will go to 27 Purple Parade charities, including the Singapore Association of the Visually Handicapped and the Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore.

Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant took part in The Purple Parade and sold more than 600 bowls of the signature Homemade Fine Bean Curd with Wolfberry with all funds going towards the total amount raised for more than 50 schools and voluntary welfare organisations supporting the special needs community in Singapore.

Garden Party at Istana

Si Chuan Dou Hua employees joined 1,000 corporate volunteers, including 100 CEOs, toCSR 8Mar.jpg serve, engage, host and bring cheer to 1,500 beneficiaries at the Project We Care - Garden Party @ Istana, graced by President Tony Tan Keng Yam and his wife, Mrs Mary Tan. Guests were treated to delicious bites from Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurants while our Executive Director joined a 50-strong choir comprising 15 CEOs to perform for the crowd.

Children's Day Celebration at PARKROYAL on Beach Road

Ms Wee Wei Ling, Executive Director of Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurants, Mr David Donald, General Manager of PARKROYAL on Beach Road, and the employees of Si Chuan Dou Hua celebrated a meaningful Children’s Day for 20 special needs children from Asian Women’s Welfare Association (AWWA) with a clay making session during which they learnt to mould a bento set of food items like dim sum and Oreo cookies, followed by an Imperial High Tea. They were joined by Guest-of-Honour Dr Lam Pin Min, Minister of Parliament for Sengkang West Constituency, and 20 secondary school students from Bowen Secondary School. Two specially crafted menus were created for sale in our restaurants, with 10% of sales proceeds donated to the SMILES (Students Meet for Interaction, Learning and Enrichment) programme of AWWA. 

Mid Autumn Festival at PARKROYAL on Beach Road

Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant and 50 volunteers from six of its sister companies joined hands to make over 700 mooncakes for the needy with the assistance of Ms Denise Phua, Mayor of Central Singapore District. The mooncakes were then baked and packed into 300 goodie bags together with snacks for distribution at the Lions Befriender Senior Activity Centre at Mei Ling Street and the NTUC Eldercare SilverACE at Whampoa.
